Holiday tournament ends in glory for Witbank Stars

The school holiday tournament was hosted to keep the youngsters fit during the holidays.

Witbank Stars FC won an U17 top-four school holiday soccer tournament in Kwa-Guqa.

According to Themba Mahlangu, the team’s coach and chairman, the one-day tournament on July 4 was hosted to keep the young players active and fit during the winter school break, when leagues are paused.

The tournament featured four teams: Wild Cats FC, Witbank Stars FC, Supreme FC, and Intermilan FC.

In the opening match, Witbank Stars dominated with a 5-3 victory over Wild Cats.

This was followed by a match between Supreme and Intermilan, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Supreme.
