Curro Bankenveld hosted its first mini-cricket match in two years last Thursday when the u.7 team competed against Laerskool Klipfontein.

Both teams took two wickets, with Laerskool Klipfontein winning the friendly match with eleven runs.

Curro Bankenveld cricket coaches, Dale Potgieter and Jalani Maree said: “Curro Bankenveld is back! We were almost bowled over, but it felt so good to be back on the pitch. Whether there was a win or a loss, the love of cricket has been imprinted in these boys’ hearts forever. Well done to our future Proteas!”

Coach for Laerskool Klipfontein, Ana Glaeser, said that both teams can say “Practice as you’ve never won, and perform as you’ve never lost!”

Well done to all the young ‘crickets’.
