Portuguese Spring Festa is happening this Saturday
Bring along loads of spending money, there will be lots to buy.
Spring is in the air and the Portuguese community is celebrating the new season with a ‘festa’.
Make sure you mark your diary on September 10 and join the festivities.
The ‘festa’ is taking place at the Portuguese Hall that is situated opposite Nissan on Nita Street.
“You can expect traditional Portuguese cuisine and interesting stalls. We have a tea garden for the ladies and a lot of activities for the kiddies,” said Mr Paul Manarte, president of the Portuguese Club.
Visitors can look forward to the Bonsai Club which will display some of their ‘little’ trees.
They are also on hand with advice, and just maybe you can start this interesting hobby.
There will also be a huge paintball set-up where you can test your skills.
A karate performance and kid’s acrobatics display are taking place in the main hall.
More than 30 stalls to stroll around in will be set up.
A photographer will be ready with a pop-up studio to snap your family photo and print it on site.
The charity the Portuguese Club is supporting on the day is the SPCA.
If you want to make a difference, please bring dog- and cat food along and hand it in at the SPCA stall.
The entry fee of R10 will also go to the SPCA.
The festivities start at 10:00.
If you want to put up a stall, you can contact Paul on 083 259 3176.
