Swift justice after an alleged business robbery

The past weekend signaled a victory in crime fighting when two alleged business robbers arrested after swift action by the Witbank SAPS and Witbank CPF.

Witbank SAPS and Witbank CPF members took speedy and swift action this weekend by bringing two alleged robbers to justice after robbing a security guard and a local business.

The arrests followed after three suspects entered a tuck shop in Reyno Ridge on Friday, October 28, at approximately 19:50.

Allegedly, the three suspects were armed, entered the shop, held the owner at gunpoint and demanded cash and cigarettes.

It is believed that the suspects took cash from the register and cigarettes from the shop’s shelves.

A security guard allegedly entered the shop while the robbery was in progress and was disarmed from his service pistol by the suspects.

The suspects are believed to have fled from the scene in a white Toyota bakkie and grey Volkswagen Polo; Witbank SAPS and Witbank CPF patrolled the Reyno Ridge area.

According to the spokesperson for Witbank SAPS, Captain Eddie Hall, the Toyota bakkie was seen a few blocks from the scene, and two suspects were apprehended.

“Investigations are continuing, and more arrests are expected,” Hall said in closing.
