Celeste Mouton School of Dance presents Peter Pan

Celeste expressed her gratitude to the parent who came in numbers to show their support and assisted with preparations before the show.

The Peter Pan Productions was such an amazing experience for the dancers of Celeste Mouton School of Dance.

The production had two sold-out shows with amazing reviews from the audience.

The Peter Pan Production was planned for 2020, however, due to the Covid-19 lockdown period, it could not happen.

Director of the Celeste Mouton School of Dance, Celeste Mouton mentioned that it took eight months of thorough planning and weekend rehearsals for the show to be properly executed.

“It was difficult to plan and to find a company that can teach the flying part of the production. I would like to thank The Cirk, an Aerial Circus Company which specialises in rigging. It was such an honour to work with them and we learned a lot from them,” Celeste rejoiced.

WITBANK NEWS visited Celeste and the team a day before the show.

The behind the scene was busy, but it seems everyone knew where to be and what to do. Celeste, owner of the dance school delegated her team and later held a short prayer.

Celeste shows gratitude to the team for their excellent dedication to the production.

The parents were extremely hands-on and came out in numbers to show support and help in any way they could.

“We have been experiencing technical difficulties, especially with the heavy rains. A lot of stuff that was not supposed to happen happened, but we will control it because God is on our side. As the hour to the show is drawing closer, we are slowly getting excited, in overall I am certain the show will be great,” she affirmed.

Celeste Mouton obtained her Teacher’s Diploma at the Royal Academy of Dance in 2007.

She went on to open her studio in the year 2011. She has done numerous shows like Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Nutcracker.

Celeste expressed she is looking forward to her lead role flying for the first time in the show.

Jonathan Victor who played the lead role of Peter Pan on the show embraced that the dance allows him to express his feelings without having to use his words, but only music and movement.

“My favourite quote from Peter Pan is: ‘I will teach you how to jump on the wind’s back and then away we go,’ ” he said.
