Advertorial | Once Again – The Pre-Loved Clothing Store has just what you need to dress in style
For quality pre-loved clothing visit Once Again – The Pre-Loved Clothing Store in the Wersea Building.
After working her whole life in the coal mining industry, Vikki van der Merwe was planning for her retirement and wanted to start her own little business which would keep her busy post-retirement.
On her way home from visiting her daughter in the UK in 2016, she came up with a business idea based on the charity shops overseas.
“I knew that I had to give it a South African twist to ensure it was going to be successful.”
What makes my business model unique is that I take in clothing on consignment and pay the owner once the items are sold,” Vikki said.
Every item is carefully checked before being placed in the store to ensure that it’s authentic, of the highest quality, and then priced at a fraction of the retail cost.
“I started off selling clothing to friends and family and putting up a stall at local markets and festivals. After two years, I got a custom-built trailer and continued to do markets over weekends. Once I retired in 2019, I knew that this was a good time to start looking for suitable premises to open up a store.”
On December 1, 2020, Once Again – The Pre-Loved Clothing store opened in the Wersea Centre, Jeanette Street.

There are over 3 500 items of clothing, shoes and accessories for women, men and children.
“I often run specials and have recently introduced a stock control measure with different colored price tags offering up to 50% on older stock, so there will always be a bargain.”
Vikki said she prides herself on the quality of each item and assures her clients that they will not be disappointed.
So if you have not yet visited, you are invited to pop in and see what there is and if Vicky doesn’t have what you are looking for, she will try hard to get what you need.
The online store www.onceagainclothing.co.za is available for those who prefer online shopping.
