The Annual KMG Charity Golf Day by members of the Kwema Golf Club (KMG) came together, assisted by a group of sponsors and raised funds during the golf day to support the less fortunate.
The presentation was held on Wednesday, November 16.
KMG was established in 2015 and held its first annual golf day in 2017 and they have been doing that for the past five years.
They aim to raise funds to buy school shoes for the less fortunate children in and around eMalahleni.
Mr Mandla Mabuza representing KMG said the project was aimed to bridge the gap and assist the less privileged with school shoes and sanitary towels.
“Our target was to buy 1 000 pairs of shoes. Through our sponsors who came on board during the golf day, we managed to even pass our target for the initiative. We aim to do the same next year and even go bigger,” Mabuza said.
Mabuza said they have also realised that there are other bigger needs in schools like facilities and they would love to assist in buying things like fences, and kitchen utensils and fulfilling other needs.

He was thankful for the support they have received over the past years so that they could lend a hand to support the schools. He added to say that KMG is a social golfer club, keen to support the less fortunate in the community.
Ms Portia Malaza, principal of Moruti Makuse said it was a special day at the school when they received the donation.
She thanked the club for going the extra mile in raising funds during the golf day and as a school, they were humbled by the gesture.
KMG had aimed for six schools this year which were: Hlangu-Phala Primary School in Phola, Moruti Makuse Primary School, Jeremia Mdaka Primary School, Vuma Primary School, Mmagobane Primary School and Mogalitwa Primary donating 100 pairs in each school.
They also have extended the donation to two other schools, Khayalethu Primary School and Maloma Primary School donating 84 pairs of school shoes to both schools.
