Robbers are getting more prevalent with the festive season upon us
Residents should be aware of robbers targeting local businesses.
Robbers are stocking up for Christmas. There is no stopping them it would seem.
Recently another establishment in the Central Business District (CBD) was robbed at gunpoint when robbers tried their luck at a local liquor store.
On December 16 the early afternoon, seven unknown male suspects entered the store while the cashier was busy at the front of the shop.
According to reports the robbers already had their firearms out and visible while entering the store.
The armed suspects demanded that the cashier open the till and that customers in the store lay down on the floor.
An unknown amount of cash was taken as well as liquor to the value of R15 000.
The police urge the public to always comply with robbers in this regard and not to be a hero.
- Always try to listen to the robbers’ conversations, accents, and names if possible.
- Try to get a glimpse of the appearance and body characteristics that could be given to the police for evidence later.
A robbery case was opened by Witbank Police and investigations are underway. The robbers are still at large.
