Emalahleni Local Municipality issued a notice and factors that contribute to the ongoing water cuts experienced in some areas around the city.

The water supply to Del Judor Extensions 1 and 2 has been affected due to two pipe breaks and repair works have been carried out.

The water supply to a portion of Witbank Extension 16 is affected due to a pipe break and the team has commenced the repair works.

Reports of low water pressure to no water supply have been resolved in the following areas:

– Highveld Park

– Seekoeiwater

– Ophelia Street, Die Heuwel

The municipality further outlined that should there be households still affected in the above-mentioned areas, to report with a full physical address.

Some factors that contribute to the water supply in some areas still affected is due to the low level of the feeder reservoir.

The reservoir is currently below 15% and may require the isolation of other areas in order to improve the level of Point C:

Areas currently affected are as follows:

– Bankenveld

– Portion of Ben Fleur

– Duvha Park Ext 15

The water supply to KwaGuqa New extensions/ Ezinambeni is still affected due to low reservoir levels.

The isolation of other areas is required to temporarily assist the affected areas.

These major pipe breaks in the following areas are on the list for assistance:

– Da Vinci Street, Reyno Ridge Ext 4

– Windsor West Street, Clewer

– Mimosa Street, Blanchville

The water supply to Thubelihle has been restored, however, it should be noted that with the ongoing power interruptions due to load shedding, it has had a negative impact and the reservoir levels are dropping.

The repair works on the Rietspruit raw water supply have been completed unfortunately power interruptions due to load shedding have also had a negative impact on the pumping of water to the purification plant.

Unfortunately, the water supply is still affected.

The water supply to Ogies and Phola is still affected due to low reservoir levels. Water tankers have been arranged to assist.
