Emalahleni’s mayor has been sacked
The ANC Nkangala Secretary, Mr Sello Matshoga said her replacement will be announced on Tuesday, June 20.
The Executive Mayor of Emalahleni has been recalled.
The ANC Nkangala Secretary, Mr Sello Matshoga told WITBANK NEWS it is not rumours, but that the mayor has indeed been recalled and the ANC is finalising the process.
“We hope to announce her replacement on Tuesday,” Matshoga said.
This move from the ANC has been expected after a series of service delivery protests that voiced the anger of residents.
The growing Eskom bill, several water reclamation bills stacking up, and general service delivery has rocked the boat since Nkalitshana took over the reins after Clr Linah Malatjie died in a car crash in 2022.
