Man caught stealing solar panels in Reyno Ridge

Solar panels are claimed to be stolen regularly in Reyno Ridge.

A man was apprehended this afternoon for stealing solar panels in Reyno Ridge.

The suspect was allegedly caught in the act by the daughter, who heard a noise coming from the roof on July, Wednesday 5.

She walked outside to look into it and encountered a man on top of the roof who told her to “stand still and let me take what I want.”

The daughter walked inside the house and notified family members who arrived to find that the suspect had stolen one of the solar panels and was fleeing.

They ran after him, and he was apprehended a few kilometres from the house while heading towards Springvalley Way.

When police arrived on the scene, the suspect was instantly arrested, and they recovered the stolen solar panel.

It was also revealed that solar panels are frequently stolen in the area.
