Pap and Vleis railway crossing’s protest persists amid contract dispute

Protesters gather at the Pap and Vleis crossing, expressing their discontent with the new security measures.

The ongoing protest at the Pap and Vleis railway crossing shows no signs of abating.

The demonstrators, who initiated their action in early August, assert that their response is a result of the termination of contracts by a new security company at Transnet.

This decision led to the displacement of more than 100 employees.

As the strike continues today, (August 23) the protesters’ concerns remain prominent, highlighting the need for resolution and fair labour practices.
