Foreign-owned tuck shops under scrutiny

Residents take matters into their own hands.

Residents in eMalahleni have taken matters into their own hands by closing foreign-owned tuck shops that allegedly “sell expired products, placing residents’ health at risk”.

On Wednesday, October 18 various tuck shops in Lynnville were forced to shut their doors after residents claimed that these shops sell expired and counterfeit goods.

Local Municipal Spokesperson, Lebo Mofokeng commented saying that the municipality is concerned about illegal foreigners dominating the township economy.
