Amapiano Disk Jockey (DJ) is eMalahleni’s most wanted after winning a local competition

The aMapiano DJ is a resident 'music maker' at numerous entertainment events around the city.

Ousman Badimu (29) said he owes his success to his mentor and trainer Again Mhlongo also known as DJ 2nyc, “I am where I am today because of him,” Ousman said.

He mentioned that 2nyc was one person who believed in his talent to the point that he groomed him and invested in his talent.

“He put in a lot of hours from his time training me and teaching me how to master my craft and mix properly,” Ousman said.

He also did not shy away from the fact that when his friend and fellow DJ entered the competition on his behalf, he did not think he would get as far as he did in the competition.

DJ Ousman scooped the R10 000 grand prize after he was consecutively selected to play at News Café, “I did not know about the competition, a friend of mine recommended I also be put in among other DJs to compete. A lot of well-known and good DJs entered the competition,” Ousman explained.

He went on to say that there was a line-up put in place every week that was inclusive of all the DJs that made it through to the next round, “If your name was not on the line-up for this week, you would have been disqualified, and I made it to everyone,” he rejoiced.

Ousman works as a delivery man during the week at a local food outlet. On weekends, the DJ keeps the streets of eMalahleni abuzz as a resident DJ at various entertainment outlets with the ever-favoured Amapiano mixes.
