Boxing champ Mgidi successfully defends his title

Mgidi won the fight against Humbulani Netshamtshedzi in round two by technical knockout (TKO) after only 40 seconds in the round.

As promised Mpumalanga junior welterweight champion Xolani Mgidi fought and defended his provincial title well.

Mgidi won the fight against Humbulani Netshamtshedzi in a technical knockout (TKO) in round two after only 40 seconds into the round.The Ilanga Boxing Promotions tournament took place at Middelburg Banquet Hall on Friday, December 15, in support of 16 Days of Activism Against GBV through boxing.
The 31-year-old Mgidi fights under well-known former boxing champion Abram Lubisi who is his trainer coach at the Lubisi Mpumalanga Boxing Club.
Mgidi had 17 fights to date, winning 10 and losing seven.

He wants to see himself holding the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the World Boxing Council (WBC) titles in the future.
He is currently helping young boxers in his location and his dream is to take two or three boxers to the Olympics in the future and that will be his biggest achievement.

He sees himself owning a boxing club after his retirement and passing the skills to young boxers.
Mgidi is motivated by his late grandfather who used to teach him to be kind and helpful to other people, work hard to be the best version of himself and to not prove anything to anybody but myself.

His grandfather was his role model.
He is looking forward to defending his title in the next fight.
