Suspect sought for gang rape and culpable homicide
Anyone who has information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects is requested to contact Vosman Police Station: 079 891 5314.

Police in Vosman are requesting information from the public that can help them to pin down suspects responsible for the gang raping of a 19-year-old woman and the one who caused the death of a 15-year-old girl in a fatal hit-and-run accident.
Vosman Police spokesperson Captain Lizzy Hlathi said these incidents happened on December 20, between 20:30 and 23:30.
“According to a preliminary investigation, the two victims were sitting at a park in eMalahleni at around 18:45, when they were joined by two unknown men at that time, who offered to buy liquor for them. After they shared a few drinks, the men suggested that they should go to KG Mall where more liquor was bought from a tavern near the mall,” Hlathi said.
The men then suggested that they should all go to a guesthouse in Vosman.
Hlathi said the surviving victim told police when they got to the guesthouse they asked to go home.
But the two men refused and insisted they all sleep at the guesthouse.
“The 19-year-old victim was allegedly assaulted by both suspects using bottles. Somehow the victims managed to escape.”
Hlathi said the victims were followed by the men and the 19-year-old was caught and allegedly the men continued assaulting her and both allegedly raped her.
They apparently left the young women in the bushes where the alleged rape had happened.
She told police that she went searching for her friend when she was told that there had been an accident on the N4 and the description of the victim who died in the accident fitted the description of her friend.
Bathini Innocent Letlaka who just came from KwaGuqa saw the shattered pieces of glass on the road and realised there was an accident.
“I followed the pieces of glass and saw what appeared to be a shoe. Meters away from the shoe I saw a body. I immediately stopped and tried to get the attention of other drivers, but to no avail,” he said.
“I took the nearest off-ramp made a U-turn to report the accident and called ER24. I’m guessing the hit-and-run was because there were guys actually chasing the girl. It was not safe for the driver to stop and access,” Letlaka said.
