Three stolen bakkies recovered in eMalahleni

Besides the charges of possession of suspected stolen properties, a charge of fraud was laid against the suspect.

A 39-year-old man was arrested with three reportedly stolen bakkies on his premises.

The vehicles were recovered in eMalahleni on Friday, December 22.

Police followed up on information about the alleged stolen vehicles which led them to a premises where the three bakkies were found.

A white Nissan NP 300 with Mpumalanga registration number plates which was reported stolen at Berea in Gauteng during March was recovered. Investigations revealed that the car belonged to an American international insurance company.

The second vehicle found on that premises is a silver Toyota Hilux bakkie with Mpumalanga registration number plates. It was reported stolen in eMalahleni in May.

According to police records, the vehicle is registered to the Department of Health.

The third vehicle found on the premises is a Toyota Hilux, gold in colour and it was reported stolen at Bellville in the Western Cape in July.

Besides the charges of possession of suspected stolen properties, a charge of fraud was laid against the suspect.
