From earlier today water supply was rationed per reservoir to boost the level of Point C Reservoir that was shut down for urgent maintenance.

This resulted in a deficit of 60Ml per day.

“The water deficit and the works that was carried out at the reservoir has resulted in the system drying out hence the boosting of the system is required in order to urgently restore the water supply for areas supplied by Point C,” said Mr Lebo Mofokeng, municipal spokesperson.

Model Park, Die Heuwel, Highveld Park, Blancheville, Riverview, Seekoewater, Jackaroo Park and Clearwater Estate that get their water from Point D reservoir had no water today.

It is anticipated that water will be restored at 22:00 this evening.

Tomorrow the areas getting their water from Point B-C Reservoir will not have water from 10:00.
