Melanin Queen of Emalahleni set her sights on bigger pageants
“I’m pleading with everyone to kindly support my dream of making it to this round. With your help, I can continue to show the world that beauty knows no bounds and that every child, regardless of skin colour, deserves to shine,”
Alondwe Shabangu (6) is breaking barriers and redefining beauty standards. In a society that often equates beauty with light skin, Alondwe is challenging this notion with grace and confidence.
“I entered the pageant because I wanted to show that everybody is beautiful in their skin colour,” said Alondwe, affectionately known as the Melanin Queen of Emalahleni. “I wanted to prove that beauty comes in all shades.”
Alondwe’s journey began on November 3, last year, when she was crowned Little Miss Emalahleni Queen.
However, her success didn’t stop there. She went on to clinch two more titles: Little Miss Emalahleni Public Choice 2023 and Model of the Year 2023, proving that her message of inclusivity resonated deeply with her community.
“I wear my crown with so much confidence and dignity because I love serving my community. It’s not just about the title; it’s about using my platform to inspire others and make a positive impact,” said Alondwe.
Now, Alondwe has her sights set on an even bigger stage as she competes to become the Little Miss Inkangala International Village.
For her to shine brightly in the competition, we, the community, must also support and vote for her. Her dream is to represent South Africa in the USA and spread her message of empowerment on a global scale.
“I’m pleading with everyone to kindly support my dream of making it to this round. With your help, I can continue to show the world that beauty knows no bounds and that every child, regardless of skin colour, deserves to shine,” she concluded.
