For Dumisani Mhlangu a simple thing like scratching your itchy nose is now something of the past.

Dumisani Mhlangu’s whole life changed last week when his hands were chopped off.

Mhlangu (30), who is recovering Witbank Hospital, shared the details of the horrific attack with WITBANK NEWS.

Vosman Police station commander, Brigadier Lindani Ndlovu said mob justice can not be ruled out.

During the interview, he paused several times trying to get his emotions under control.

“I kept on pleading and telling them they had the wrong man. I prayed that God would protect me as I was sure they were going to kill me,” he said.

According to the provincial police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli the men took both Mhlangu’s hands and left him behind in despair.

Mhlangu said the men accused him of stealing a battery at a local church.

Police opened a case of attempted murder and are in pursuit of the suspects.

Police urge anyone with information that may assist in finding the suspects, to contact Detective Lieutenant Colonel Muntu Mbatha at 0826008537 or call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP.
