Padels for Palestine

Riverview Padel Racquet Club hosted a successful charity tournament in aid of Palestine.

Riverview Padel Racquet Club served up more than just aces when they hosted a charity tournament.

In partnership with Islamic Relief, the event rallied the eMalahleni community, bringing players and supporters together for a common cause.

The court was abuzz on Saturday, October 12, with energy as paddlers volleyed for a difference, each shot and rally symbolising hope and solidarity.

Organisers ‘served up’ a successful day, with delicious treats on sale and all proceeds ‘netting’ crucial funds for Islamic Relief.

“Islamic Relief together with our amazing volunteers hosted a padel tournament in aid of Gaza. Fourty thousand Palestinians have been killed, from the 40 000, mainly women and children. We need to continue to raise our voices, we need to continue to call for an immediate ceasefire, Palestinians deserve to live normal lives, just like you and me,” commented Zaheer Rajah, organiser of the event.

As players clashed on the court, their collective spirit ‘spiked’ a message of unity and compassion. The event proved that sport can transcend borders, inspiring real change.

The tournament’s success ‘aced’ expectations, thanks to volunteers, participants, and community members. Together, they demonstrated that even the smallest gesture can make a significant impact and that every serve, every shot, and every voice matters.
