2 suspected of hijacking set to appear in court today

Two hijacking suspects arrested in Vosman over the weekend are set to appear in Delmas Magistrate’s Court today.

Two suspects arrested in connection with the hijacking of a white Toyota Hilux in Vosman are expected to appear at the Delmas Magistrate’s Court today.

The suspects, aged 48 and 40, were arrested on January 25.

According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, the 48-year-old suspect was found in possession of the bakkie and was charged with possession of a suspected hijacked vehicle.

A man, driving a silver Toyota Corolla, suspected of escorting the hijacked bakkie was also nabbed.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has expressed his gratitude for the collaborative efforts displayed by all law enforcement agencies that were involved and for their swift response that led to the recovery of the vehicle.
