Back-to-school initiative brings joy to local learners

Ecufe in partnership with the commodities trading company gets A+ for initiative.

A back-to-school initiative has brought smiles to the faces of learners at three local high schools in eMalahleni.

The initiative was hosted by Ecufe in partnership with the commodities trading company to help learners in need, which included Phillip Ndimande High School, Elukhanyisweni High School, and Kopanong High School.

The initiative took place on January 30 and aimed to promote cultural heritage and support families who struggle to afford basic school necessities.

During the event, 150 learners received essential items, including 50 school bags, 50 water bottles, and 50 packets of sanitary pads (per school).

This initiative, which began in 2021, has maintained its momentum, bringing hope and relief to families in need.

“We hope to expand the programme, encouraging more companies to join forces and make a positive impact on the community,” said Shadrack Thabang, the chairperson of Ecufe.

The back-to-school initiative not only provides material support but also fosters a sense of cultural pride and connection among students.
