The search for 88-year-old Maria Zandile Mnyakeni has ended in tragedy.

The elderly woman, who went missing after failing to return home from church services at ZCC Thwala Street in KwaGuqa on May 25, was found deceased.

“We identified our beloved mother this morning, and it’s with heavy hearts that we share the news of her passing,” said her son. “She was found on the N4 Overline, having been hit by more than one car.”

The tragic incident is still under investigation.
