Brace yourself for the 5-day water shutdown starting next week

The planned water shutdown in eMalahleni is postponed for a week.

The maintenance on Witbank Water Treatment Works, Old Coronation Bulk Water Pipeline, Point B Reservoir, Point D Reservoir Pump Station, and Point D 5 Megalitre Reservoir has been postponed for a week.
The maintenance is now scheduled to start on July 21.
All areas supplied by Reservoirs Point A, B, C, D, and E will be affected.

The municipality anticipates that the shutdown will only take five days.
After the maintenance, reservoirs will be refilled and the water system recharged.

Full restoration of supply may take up to three days to normalise across all areas.

“Water tankers and JoJo tanks will be arranged and dispatched to all affected communities to ensure access to water throughout the shutdown,” was the word from the municipality.
