Emalahleni is entering day 3 of the water supply maintenance

Emalahleni mayor gave his thumbs up and is happy with the progress so far in the water supply maintenance.

The Executive Mayor, Cllr Vusi Nhlapho, and the MMC for Technical Services, Cllr Thabang Mathebula, were on site yesterday to inspect the progress of the water supply maintenance.

They gave the thumbs up to the team working in very difficult conditions.

Here are highlights of yesterday’s site progress

Significant progress has been made at the water treatment plant with the distance piece and butterfly valve replacements on the raw water line feeding the plant.

Work is 80% complete, with final tightening and testing scheduled for completion soon.

A previously non-operational reservoir at Point D – Command Reservoir is being brought back online.

A closed valve was opened, and a new vacant valve is now being installed.

Welding and valve replacement work is 60% complete.

Point A – Reservoirs

Both reservoirs have now been fully cleaned.

Point B – Reservoirs

Cleaning operations are actively ongoing in both reservoirs.

“We continue to appeal for patience and support from residents. Please assist by protecting municipal infrastructure and ensuring the safety of workers on the ground,” was the message from the municipal communications desk.
