NAA ready to shine at Kees Taljaard
After hosting a powerful winter training camp, the academy is confident and ready to make a strong impact.
Nkangala Athletic Academy (NAA) is gearing up for the South African Cross Country Championships, set to take place this September at Kees Taljaard Stadium in Middelburg.
The academy recently held a powerful training winter camp. The winter camp aimed to support underprivileged athletes, especially sub-youth runners from NAA’s rural branches.
Some of these young athletes had never experienced structured training before. The camp gave them a chance to learn proper techniques, build endurance, and receive guidance from experienced coaches.
The camp was about giving every athlete a fair chance to grow and succeed. It focused on physical training, mental preparation, and team spirit. It helped the athletes bond; stay motivated, and understand what it takes to compete at a national level.
In recent months, the academy has collected several medals in both road running and cross country events. Nkosinathi Skosana won the Cups and Blossoms 10km Night Race, while Thabiso Mabaso and Pule Mabaso dominated the Junior Men’s category.
Thandolwethu Motha also impressed by finishing second in the Junior Women’s category. At the Mpumalanga Cross Country League and the Steelcrest High School meet, NAA bagged an impressive 25 medals, proving their athletes are ready for the big stage.
