Masakhane man nabbed for alleged rape

The accused appeared in the Witbank Magistrate's Court on Monday, and the case was postponed.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of his 46-year-old partner.
The arrest was made on August 22.

According to the police, the incident occurred at the couple’s shared residence.

The accused made his first court appearance on August 25, where the matter was postponed to September 1 for further investigation. The suspect remains in custody.

“A woman’s body belongs to her, even if she is your wife or partner. Marriage or a relationship does not give you the right to demand sex. If she says no, you must respect it,” said the Witbank Police Spokesperson, Captain Eddie Hall.

This is a developing story.
