SPCA invites community for heritage celebration

“Riders are also encouraged to fill their luggage cases with cat and dog food or cash donations, helping the SPCA stock up on much-needed resources,” said Lilian Cavalieratos.

The Witbank SPCA is calling on animal lovers, bikers, and families to join them for a fun-filled Heritage Day celebration.

The celebration will be held on September 24.

The event kicks off with a raffle draw at 08:30, followed by a dog walk at 09:15, where participants are encouraged to bring their furry friends, on leads, of course.

Entry is R50 per person and R10 per dog, with all proceeds going toward the care and protection of animals.

Adding some joy to the day, a motorcycle outride will depart at 09:00, covering both gravel and tar roads. Bikers can enter for R200, or by donating pet food or supplies, and each entry will be placed into a prize draw.

“To keep the energy high and stomachs full, boerewors rolls will be on sale until 12:00, adding a tasty local touch to the celebration,” said Lilian.

For more information on the celebration, you can contact the SPCA at 013 650 2321.
