Young actor Mivuyo grows from church perfomances to global recognition
Mivuyo’s incredible acting skills have seen her representing South Africa outstandingly in various countries.
Mivuyo Ncapayi, a grade five learner from Cambridge Academy, has taken the world of acting by storm, representing South Africa exceptionally well in Spain, France, Barcelona, and Monaco.
The talented 11-year-old youngster from Pine Ridge has been making waves both locally and internationally, showcasing her exceptional acting skills.
According to her mother, Phindile Nkosi, it all started with mere church performances at the age of two, and she gradually ventured into poetry performances, public speaking, and eventually perfected acting as she grew older.

“Her incredible performances in everything she took part in really amazed me, and that was when I realised that she has a gift,”
Phindile said, adding that after realising her passion for acting, she got all the support she needed to nurture her talent.
Mivuyo’s game changer came in 2024 when she won the National Acting Competition in South Africa, which afforded her a chance to compete in the Stars of the Universe international competition.
Through that competition, she earned herself the title of Overall Junior Actor, outshining her peers from countries such as Spain, France, Greece, Estonia, Bulgaria, Hungary, the United Kingdom, and others from South Africa.
The rising star got recognised again in an online international competition, where she bagged the award of Overall Junior Actor once again.

Later, she travelled to Spain, France, Barcelona, and Monaco, where she faced off against young actors from the USA, Estonia, Portugal, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, and Armenia, and she continued to deliver incredible performances that earned her outstanding results.
Inspired by the great Sarafina star, Leleti Khumalo, Mivuyo said she is determined to keep developing her talent to ensure that she becomes like her one day.
“I feel happy and proud for all I’ve achieved at my age, and I plan to continue perfecting my craft, ensuring that I maintain and even improve the standard,” she said, adding that with the help of her coach in Pretoria, Lana Coetzee, she is assuredly going to reach even greater heights.
With her loud achievements and success, the young actor has received certificates of appreciation from the executive mayor and speaker of the Emalahleni Local Municipality, and was also recognised by the provincial premier during his budget speech on July 28.

“I really feel so honoured by such recognition; it assures me that I am moving in the right direction and my hard work is noted,” Mivuyo said.
As the young actor gears up for a cruise in Durban with international agents and actors, she strongly commends her mom, friends, government, and various entrepreneurs who continue to support her throughout her journey.
“I really feel so blessed and honoured by how well my daughter is doing, such that sometimes I even tend to feel like I’m limiting her by keeping her around Mpumalanga as she has already missed so many opportunities,” Mivuyo’s mother said, adding that she will continue to do her best to always support and be there for her daughter all the way.l Premier during his Budget Speech on the 28 July 2025.
