Mabanda Sport Ground marks successful Heritage Day celebration

Adding to the excitement, popular Maskandi Artist Shenge Wasehlalankosi took to the stage, treating the crowd to a memorable performance.

The spirit of South Africa’s cultural diversity was on full display at the annual Heritage Day celebration, hosted at the Mabanda Sport Ground.

This significant public holiday—a day designated to honour the nation’s rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, and histories—was celebrated with great enthusiasm, drawing crowds from eMalahleni, Ga-Nala.

The celebration was led by Ndabezitha Sipho SoMbali Mahlangu from the SoGutjhe Royal House, who guided the day’s festive events. Crucially, the event was bolstered by the support of local businesses that sought to plough back into the community, demonstrating a shared commitment to cultural preservation and local upliftment.

The collaboration between royal leadership and the business sector helped ensure the day was a resounding success.

The event was packed with fun and various activities designed to showcase the diverse heritage of the attendees.

The programme included energetic soccer and netball games, vibrant displays of dancing, powerful poetry readings, and traditional singing.

Attendees proudly showcased their respective cultures, creating a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere.
