Man accused of torching 2 women returns to Witbank Magistrate’s Court

Mpumelelo Hill faces two counts of murder after both the women he allegedly torched later died at the hospital.

Double murder accused, Mpumelelo Hill from Kwa-Guqa, is expected to appear before the Witbank Magistrate’s Court today as the case against him continues to spark outrage in eMalahleni.

This comes after his appearance on August 7, when he abandoned his bail application, and his case was postponed for further investigation.

The 35-year-old faces two counts of murder after allegedly torching his girlfriend, Nompumelelo Gamede (21), together with his sister, Antoinette Hill (23), on July 23, who both later died at the hospital.

According to Gamede’s father, the accused allegedly doused petrol on his daughter after a heated argument the couple had, together with his sister, who reportedly tried to intervene, and set them alight, leaving them locked in a room to burn.
