SASSA in eMalahleni clears confusion around 10:00 ‘knock-off’ time

The community of eMalahleni is encouraged to visit the satellite office for assistance.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in eMalahleni informs the public about their satellite office, which is currently operating in Klarinet, as their main office was allegedly closed down by the Department of Labour.

According to SASSA spokesperson Senzeni Ngubeni, the labour department reached this unfortunate decision after seeing that the office does not meet the Occupational Health and Safety standards.

However, due to their strong commitment to serving the community of eMalahleni, the organisation came up with an alternative.

“We have opened a satellite office in Klarinet, where we now run our operations. We just go to the main office every day to inform those who haven’t yet received the information,” Ngubeni said, adding that at 10:00, they lock the doors and head to Klarinet to continue assisting people.

Ngubeni said this arrangement will go on until the issue around their office is resolved because there are processes and systems to be followed.

The satellite office is situated at 1506 Thusong Multipurpose Center in Klarinet Extension 3, and opens Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 16:00, and residents are encouraged to make their way there whenever they need assistance.
