Kwa-Guqa hijacked bakkie still nowhere to be found- SAPS seeks assistance

The car was hijacked outside the owner's home last night.

A local man is asking for help after being hijacked at gunpoint right outside his home.

The incident occurred at Empumelelweni Extension 9 around 19:00 on October 21.

According to the police, the incident occurred when the man was opening his garage door after parking just outside his gate. Out of nowhere, two armed men appeared and demanded his cellphone and car keys. They then drove off in his Toyota Hilux Charcoal Club Cab.

“The hijackers instructed my brother not to move, or they were going to shoot him. They took his bakkie, and they are still at large,” said Molefe Kgasi, the victim’s brother.

According to the Vosman SAPS spokesperson, Captain Vusi Mnisi, a carjacking case was opened and the police’s investigation is underway.

The stolen vehicle is a Toyota Hilux Charcoal Club Cab of registration KSP 993 MP. If spotted, residents are advised not to approach, but to contact Vosman SAPS or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Anyone with information that can assist with the investigation is also urged to contact the SAPS.
