Athletics’ finest put on a show at Laerskool Taalfees

Schools from across Gauteng and Mpumalanga test their track and field preparations as SuperSport Schools cameras capture pre-season action.

Some of the best young athletes from Mpumalanga and Gauteng gathered at Laerskool Taalfees on October 31 for the Top 20 Athletics event, one of the biggest and most anticipated school athletics meetings in the region.

The event brought together top schools and promising athletes, allowing them to compete against strong opposition ahead of the official school athletics season, which starts in January next year.

Athletes took to the track and field throughout the day, with schools using the competition to measure their progress and identify areas for improvement before the new season begins.

Majorettes welcome athletes

The event opened in spectacular fashion with a performance by the Laerskool Taalfees Majorettes, who welcomed athletes, coaches and supporters to a day filled with excitement and sporting excellence.

Schools praised the event’s excellent organisation, quality facilities and vibrant atmosphere, which contributed to a memorable experience for everyone involved.
