Fuel price cuts expected for South African drivers in November

Unleaded 93 may fall by as much as 63 cents per litre, thanks to a stronger Rand and lower global oil prices.

Good news for South African drivers: Fuel prices are expected to drop in November, offering some relief for motorists after months of high prices.

According to industry reports, the price of Brent Crude has fallen below $62 per barrel, while the Rand has strengthened against the US Dollar. These factors could lead to significant savings at the pump.

Expected reductions include:

Unleaded 93: Down 63 cents per litre

Unleaded 95: Down 59 cents per litre

Diesel 500 ppm: Down 35 cents per litre

Diesel 50 ppm: Down 34 cents per litre

Illuminating paraffin: Down 16 cents per litre

Current prices (as of October 1):

Inland: Unleaded 93 – R21.48/L, Unleaded 95 – R21.63/L, Diesel 500 ppm – R19.34/L, Diesel 50 ppm – R19.39/L

Coastal: Unleaded 93 – R20.69/L, Unleaded 95 – R20.80/L, Diesel 500 ppm – R18.51/L, Diesel 50 ppm – R18.63/L

Motorists filling a 50-litre tank of unleaded 93 could save over R30 in November if the projected reductions are implemented.

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy is yet to confirm the exact figures, but the reductions are widely anticipated, offering a small reprieve for South Africans feeling the pinch of rising living costs.
