Talent tsunami during Artium in eMalahleni

From dance to dramatic arts, and creative writing to vocals, the quality of talent was exceptional during the 2025 Artium Arts Festival.

The Artium Arts Festival strives to bring an opportunity to all aspiring artists in the Mpumalanga region to develop their talents.

From the start of July all the way through to August, over 2 200 primary and high school students have participated in the annual Artium Arts Festival, as said by Magda Wolmarans, chairperson of the organisation, and she has commended that true talent with a high standard was seen this year.

With Artium being hosted at local schools with esteemed adjudicators, several items were delivered with exceptional talent, and what a pleasure it was to watch for the audience.

With a wide variety of participation across all artistic areas, such as dance, photography, creative writing, dramatic arts, instrumental, and vocal sections, the students definitely brought their ‘A-game’.

Artium wrapped up the 2025 calendar year with its annual Festival Concert on October 20 at HTS, where all the winners from the different sections were announced.

Artium would like to congratulate every learner for their exceptional performance and achievements.

“Also, an all-round applause to all the parents and teachers for supporting the artistic youth of Mpumalanga. Artium wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the management, as well as the organisers of the sections for their dedicated work during the year,” was the message from the Artium committee.

Congratulations to Minique Haarhoff for winning the primary school’s management trophy and Abigail Cullen for winning the high school management trophy.

The Artium Arts Festival is looking forward to what 2026 has in store for all the participants and their God-given talents.
