2 men hospitalised after shootings in eMalahleni

The two men were shot in separate incidents that occurred in different areas of eMalahleni.

eMalahleni police are investigating two attempted murder and robbery incidents that occurred on consecutive nights, leaving two men hospitalised with gunshot wounds.

Both victims were attacked while walking in the streets at night.

The first incident took place on the evening of December 5.

A man reported that while walking from the CBD toward Lynnville, he was suddenly confronted by two men who shot him in the face.

After he fell, the attackers searched him, stealing his cellphone and cash. The suspects fired two shots into the air before fleeing, leaving the injured victim behind.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with injuries to his face.

The following night, December 6, another violent incident occurred in the Coronation area around 22:30. A man and two friends encountered a group of four men who demanded their cellphones.

As they attempted to run, he was shot in his stomach. The gang fled the scene without taking anything, and the victim was rushed to the hospital.

Police are looking for any information
No arrests have been made in connection with either case. Police spokesperson Captain Eddie Hall appealed to the public for assistance.

“At this stage, no arrests have been made, and we request the community’s assistance to solve these cases,” said Hall.
