Vosman Police investigates double attempted murders

One person was arrested in connection with one of the incidents and is facing attempted murder charges.

Vosman Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that left two people wounded, and police are racing to connect the dots.

In one case, a suspect is already behind bars. In the other case, two suspects remain on the run.

Authorities have confirmed that both investigations are active and being treated with urgency.

Hlalanikahle Phase 4 attempted murder

In the first incident, a man told the police that on November 28, around 17:00, he was at his place in Phase 4 doing his panel beating work when two armed men approached him and sat on top of a vehicle in his yard.

The man told the police that an argument started, and the duo slapped him in his face before one of them took his firearm and shot him in his thigh.

The men then fled the scene and remain at large.

Police are appealing to the public for any information that could help track them down.

Clewer attempted murder

In the second incident, the police found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head and unable to speak at Mark Street in Clewer on December 5 at 06:30..

The man was taken to the hospital.

“Information at the police’s disposal revealed that the victim was shot by a local guy who was immediately traced and subsequently arrested. However, the motive behind the shooting remains unknown,” said the Vosman SAPS spokesperson, Captain Vusi Mnisi.

Mnisi has emphasised that both investigations are being treated with urgency.

Community members are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

Mnisi further noted that while one arrest has been made, the search for the other suspects continues.
