The stork worked overtime in eMalahleni

It seems like the stork didn't just visit eMalahleni this Christmas – he brought the whole delivery fleet and staged a full-scale 'infantry' invasion.

The best gifts are not wrapped up in a box; they are cuddled in a soft, fluffy baby blanket.

Yes, eMalahleni recorded the birth of six babies on Christmas Day.

Marketing and Communication Coordinator at Life Cosmos Hospital, Christelle Matthee, said it was laughter all around as they welcomed two baby boys.

At Witbank Hospital, four Christmas babies had a surprise visit from the Premier of Mpumalanga Mandla Ndlovu, the MEC for Health Sasekani Manzini and the Mayor Clr Vusi Nhlapo.

“Gifts were handed over to the newborns and their mothers as a gesture of care and support,” said municipal spokesperson Lebo Mofokeng.

Mofokeng said this was the perfect way to celebrate Christmas as the families started a new chapter with the reminder the most precious gift is the arrival of a new generation.

“The visit to Witbank Hospital also recognised the dedication of healthcare workers who continued to provide essential services during the festive period,” Mofokeng added.

*The births at Witbank Hospital was recorded at 14:00 and by the time posting the article there was no update as to if there has been more new arrivals.
