9-year-old assault caught on video

The community in Tasbet Park is calling for action after a 9-year old girl was assaulted under loud cheers this weekend.

The Tasbet Park community is outraged after a video surfaced of two girls fighting.

The incident, which many residents believe, is part of a broader, ongoing bullying crisis.

Fuelled by loud cheers from other children, a young girl can be seen hitting a 9-year-old with an open hand and then with fists.

This assault lasted close to five minutes.

A man is seen coming to the young girl’s rescue and asking why this fight is ‘celebrated’?

Local leaders and concerned parents have voiced their fears and said bullying is becoming far more dangerous than common crimes in the area.

“This is not an isolated matter – it is ongoing. If we fail to act quickly and responsibly, we risk facing a tragedy that none of us can bear. We cannot allow negligence to cost us the life or well-being of any child,” was a WhatsApp sent on the community group.

The community is calling for a meeting this week where the incident and its impact on the victim will be discussed.

The community asked that the victim and the bullies, along with their parents, attend the meeting.

This is a developing story.
