Local riders shine at BEC’s first show

Spectators were treated to a display of remarkable synergy between horse and rider at the show.

It was all hooves, cheers, and high-fives as local riders stole the spotlight at Bankenveld Equestrian Centre’s first-ever public show this past weekend.

The event on February 7 celebrated skill, sportsmanship, and the vibrant spirit of the community.

Elardie Henrico, instructor and stable yard owner, said, “I am incredibly proud of all the riders and horses who competed. The way everyone came together made this day truly special. A big thank you to everyone who made it a success!”

Top honours went to rider of the day, Nika Steenkamp, and horse of the day, Genot Nala, both competing in the 70cm class, impressing judges and fans alike.

Elardie added, “We’re already planning our next show. BEC is a place for riders and horses to grow, compete, and have fun, and we can’t wait to see even more talent next time.”
