District athletics push through pouring rain at HTS

The sports ground saw hard-fought battles as the athletes gave their all despite the rain.

The HTS Witbank sports ground was buzzing with loads of excitement as the school hosted the district athletics.

Not even rain could dampen the spirit of the young athletes who were eager to compete on February 14.

According to Marlize Tyl, one of the organisers from HTS, around 54 schools participated in the athletics at the beginning of the competitions.

The competitions saw athletes competing in various stages, starting with circuit level, sub-district, and then the district athletics, which featured top athletes from each circuit.

It was said that the next challenge will be in February, when Nkangala will face the other Mpumalanga districts to select the Mussa team.
