Toll fees are necessary to upkeep the N4 with daily road maintenance such as grass cuts, guardrail placement, road studs, and line markings.

March 1 is around the corner, and with that, the inevitable is happening: toll fees are increasing.

Motorists with Class 1 vehicles are currently paying R81 at Middelburg Toll Plaza; from next week Sunday, they will pay R84.

The Machado Mainline will now cost Class 1 commuters R126, Donkerhoek Ramp will cost R17, Rayton West/Cullinan Ramp R21, Diamond Hill Mainline R51, Valtaki East Ramps R39, Ekandustria East Ramps R31, and Nkomazi Mainline R95.

Class 2 commuters will pay R182 at Middelburg Toll Plaza, Class 3 commuters will pay R277, and Class 4 commuters will pay R365.

Toll fees are going up on March 1.
