Together, Thubelihle is turning trash into pride and clean streets for all.
Thubelihle residents recently rolled up their sleeves in a bold campaign to clean up their streets and protect public health.
Led by GP Nation Recycling, the community came together with local leaders, businesses, and non-profits to tackle illegal dumping and litter that threatens residents’ well-being.
Armed with gloves, refuse bags, and determination, volunteers transformed public spaces, removing waste, sanitizing areas, and restoring pride in their neighborhood on February 20.
“This initiative not only restores our community pride but also safeguards the health of every resident,” said the chief of the Mahlangu Kriel chiefdom, praising the collective effort.
Organisers stressed that clean environments reduce disease, prevent pests, and create safer spaces for children. Non-profit Isibindi Sabanqobi called the campaign “a vital step for community well-being,” while participating businesses promised ongoing support and education.
GP Nation Recycling said more projects are on the horizon to strengthen awareness and stop illegal dumping for good.
They extended gratitude to all stakeholders and community members who contributed to the campaign’s success.
