1 dead, 2 wounded in eMalahleni shoot-out
Outside the Standard Bank branch people stood silently watching as police and paramedics tended to the scene where a cross pavement CIT heist played out.
A cross pavement cash-in-transit turned fatal this morning when a guard was shot dead, and a second guard and a teacher wounded.
Dino Padayachee from Langamed Emergency Management said his paramedics treated the teacher from Siyabuswa who was shot in the leg during the shoot-out.
“The teacher told us she came with a child and we went into the bank and found the child safe with only abrasions on the leg,” Padayachee said.
Gunmen opened fire on the guards in front of Standard Bank in the CBD.
