Nursing staff at Witbank Hospital is up in arms after a shop steward was suspended last week.

The nursing staff has occupied the boardroom in the administration office this morning demanding the immediate removal of the hospital’s CEO, Khumbuzile Madonsela.

“We just had enough with her mismanagement. Patients are lying on the floor, there is no food for the patients and the JoJo tanks are empty,” one of the nurses, who wish to stay anonymous, said.

Madonsela said she could not comment and referred the media to the Department of Health.
