Asante Sisters ensures no girl goes to camp without essentials

The organisation gifted girls from the Izintombi Zothingo Lwenkosazane group with toiletries to use during camps.

Asante Sisters Circle recently played big sister to girls in Kwa-Guqa with its toiletry drive, which aimed to bridge a gap and encourage young girls to preserve their purity.

According to Nondumiso Mafatle, founder of the organisation established last year, after seeing a need in the girls from the Izintombi Zothingo Lwenkosazane group, she felt the need to do something.

“We noticed that if one goes with a cosmetic item to the camp, it gets lost, which indicates that there is a lack,” Nondumiso said.

“So, I wanted to close that gap by providing them with toiletries so that every girl doesn’t struggle but has her own during camps.”

On April 11, the girls received a package that had items such as soap, roll-on, tooth brush, tooth paste, face cloth, body lotion, and sanitary towels for the grown girls.

“I just wanted to be the bigger sister to them so that whenever they see me again, they will see someone they know they can count on,” the founder said.

Nondumiso and her team, Patience Nkosi and Gratitude Khoza, expressed great excitement and fulfillment with how the kids received the gifts.

“We also hope and believe that these gifts will encourage them to keep preserving their purity because lack is what sometimes leads them astray,” Patience said.

The leader of the girls’ group, Pretty Vatsha, on the other hand, appreciated the organisation for their warm gesture of love and kindness.

“I’m very happy for what they did for the kids, I pray that God may bless them so that they shall never lack,” Pretty said.
