Hertzog battles hard against HTS Middelburg on the netball court

While the scoreboard leaned heavily in Middelburg’s favour, Hertzog’s players left the court with heads held high.

The netball courts witnessed a day of tough competition as Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog took on HTS Middelburg in a series of fixtures.

On May 14, both schools displayed determination and skill, with HTS Middelburg ultimately securing victories across most divisions.

Despite the challenging results, Hertzog’s players showed resilience and commitment.

The younger squads, including the 14A and 14B teams, fought bravely, but Middelburg managed to edge ahead with scores of 23–4 and 12–8. The 15A and 15B sides faced a strong offensive display from Middelburg, ending 27–7 and 22–12.

In the 16A and 16B matches, Hertzog’s defensive grit was evident, though Middelburg maintained control to win 26–5 and 18–7.

The senior teams brought the most excitement.

The U19A match was a highlight, with Hertzog battling fiercely in a high-scoring 35–27 contest that kept spectators engaged until the final whistle.

The U19B team also showed determination, though Middelburg’s consistency carried them to a 19–4 victory. The team remains ready to take the courts for the matches ahead.
