Reward offered for information on shooting of an owl in Die Heuwel
Residents in Die Heuwel say no wildlife crime will be tolerated in the area.
A reward of R3 500 has been set for anyone who can provide concrete information leading to the identification of the person responsible for shooting an owl on Delft Street in Die Heuwel Proper.
The owl was found injured in a local resident’s yard, having been shot with a pellet gun.
The incident has sparked frustrations among residents who view it as a serious wildlife crime. They emphasised that the deliberate injuring and killing of such a creature is not only cruel but also illegal.
Community members are being urged to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation. All details shared will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
The reward is intended to encourage witnesses or those with knowledge of the crime to speak up and help ensure justice is served.
